We’ll be the first to admit that we have a small crush on many shades of blue. The blue-green hue, turquoise is no exception. Complimented by yellows, deep reds, corals and light or bright pinks, its no wonder that turquoise continues to grow in popularity. Today we are inspired by colorful treats, typewriters, canopied party streamers, and {of course!} mason jars galore. To help get the look, we found this how-to video by Jordan Reid of Ramshackle Glam quite useful when it comes to tinted mason jars. {Truly, great because these aren’t always easy to come by in large quantities!} All you need jars, wax paper, paint thinner and paint!

Ombré… Chevron… Jeweled: these are some of our favorite fashion trends right now and they are manifesting themselves in the most fun and edible way – cake!

From hair to nails to home decor, ombré has hit the fashion scene with a fun new way of encompassing all colors of the rainbow into your look. If you have a pop of color with your wedding shoes, a complimentary pop of color with your cake ties in every detail of your big day. It adds an element of whimsy to your cutting of the cake moment.
We all are familiar with the iconic Missoni Chevron print and it’s taken the fashion world by storm! From Chevron home décor and clothing, we never get tired of the famous zig-zag. The print is a creative way to incorporate some texture to your cake and pay tribute a-la Missoni. Your guests will be sure to appreciate the fashionable gesture!
When it comes to accessories, the more jewels and sparkle the better! The same philosophy can be applied to your tasty dessert. We love the bling-ed out cake with a string of pearls to up the anty during your reception. What a show stopper!
Baroque prints have become so prominent in fashion and textural prints have become focal the point of a look. A stenciled cake adds an element of sophistication that is elegant and understated.
And of course, last but not least, rosettes! Floral is always important and a key trend every spring. We love the combination of the bright color and rosettes – makes you want to have fun feeding your future husband!
Whatever style you find is your go-to, it’s so much fun to incorporate these key trends into your dressing and to your ultimate party dessert – your wedding cake!

Let’s turn up the fun! When it comes to current trends, neon has made a serious comeback in recent seasons. Luckily, we’ve come a long way since 1985! Both runway and ready-to-wear have embraced these shades to give their lines that extra {wow!} factor. While you may be thinking that neon is “too wild” for a wedding, you may want to reconsider. Florescent shades of pink, yellow, green and orange are fantastic for adding pop when working with a neutral color palette. What did we love? Polka-dot presents, rock candy, bright invitations and patterned plates were at the top of our list. We also found a great DIY for neon milk bottle vases and and bold letter decor from the Twisted Twig Etsy store.
If neon brights won’t work for you actual wedding, they can be just the right amount of fun for bridal showers and bachelorettes too!

Summer is officially in full swing! We can’t stop thinking about sundresses, sandals and taking our first bite of a sweet Georgia peach. This favorite fruit has inspired a palette that works for wedding days and bridal showers alike. We love the invitations filled with confetti, dainty peach streamers and a polka dot bow ties! The color peach is soft and romantic and looks lovely with yellow, mint, and clean whites.

A while back we featured five gray dresses for you to choose for your bridesmaids. Each were a different shade and style— and all were positively stunning. Today we hope to inspire you with shoes, cake, table top settings, furniture and fabric. We may have covered gray for the girls in the past, but it’s not just reserved for the ladies. Gray suits can be a refreshing and summery break from the black tuxedo!

We think Kristina & Eric’s wedding, photographed by Angie Silvy, is a beautiful example of how gray tones can best be incorporated into wedding wardrobes. Two gray dresses are tied together with a necklace for the gals and groomsmen are suited up in a summertime light gray. Lovely alone or with brilliant yellow and orange hues, gray is a neutral tone you can weave fantastically into your palette.

Have we featured your wedding colors yet? Leave us a comment and we promise we will!

A symbol of purity and innocence, white is the most traditional color used to celebrate weddings in the western world. While it’s no secret that many brides choose white {or one of its infinite shades} for their gown, white on white wedding elements can create a beautiful atmosphere that is nothing short of heavenly.

There is something about white that reminds us of summer. All white cascades look fantastic with white lilacs, peonies, lily of the valley or fragrant gardenias. We also love cookies and cake with pure white icing paired with paper doilies or clustered lanterns.
For a contemporary look, modern furniture is great way to introduce whites into your color scheme. Blueprint Studios has several options, whether you envision tables, chairs, banquettes or ottomans. May we suggest the soma hemstitched daybed?

There is an abundance of elegance and sophistication associated with the color black. Black attire is a symbol of all things upscale, classy, and formal. Your wedding should be no exception. In fact, French Impressionist artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir declared that he had “been 40 years discovering that the queen of all colors was black.” We couldn’t agree more.
From invitations and hors d’oeurves {mini french fry bundles wrapped in newspaper!} to satin bow heels and black & white bouquets, black accents can’t help but catch our eye.

While black looks great with summer brights {think fluorescent pinks, yellows and greens} we are also quite fond of black and white as a pair. These custom Regas invitations, available at Union Street Papery, are perfect for a black tie wedding, don’t you agree?

Pretty pastels are springing up just about everywhere this season. From mint green to lavender we are becoming quite smitten with this trend. This week we are inspired by pale pink rose petals. After all, roses been a symbol or love and beauty for centuries. We adore the vintage mismatched bridesmaid dresses, ruffled pink cakes, monogramed candies, and of course the Christian Louboutin heels! While pink has traditionally been associated with femininity, it can’t be reserved for just the girls. Preppy pink {pin striped} dress shirts look good on men too.

Are you feeling inspired yet? This romantic bouquet from Huckleberry Karen Designs goes perfectly with our soft pink palette. {Swoon!}
