Urban Romance Wedding Inspiration

By MILOU + OLIN PHOTOGRAPHY Hello and happy Thursday! We’re so excited to show you this wonderfully styled shoot that comes to us via the amazing talent at Artsy Heartsy and so many other amazing vendors (see the complete list at the bottom of the page!) For this lovely styled shoot the inspiration was a romantic wedding with a bohemian edge. Metallic gold, brass, and silver help add a festive touch, while dark, rich colors like cocoa and burgundy lend some romance to this winter event. Because this couple is more edgy than traditional, we gave our bride an asymmetrical, free-form bouquet and dressed her up in stunning Maggie Sottero dresses perfect for the modern bohemian wedding. The other flowers and table settings are more organic and overgrown – an artsy mix of airplants, succulents, and architectural sculptures. Brigitte from Artsy Heartsy adds: “There is so much wedding design out there that is bride-centric, and I wanted this shoot to be more masculine. I’m definitely a girly-girl and LOVE sequins and glitter and polka dots… but I also love to wear men’s cologne just to mix it up!”

gold_romance_wedding_inspiration_1This bar cart is perfect for an intimate gathering. Not only does it add some extra style to the decor, but the stenciled bottles, chalk board, and confetti-filled ornaments are completely doable DIY projects for the crafty bride.

Get a closer look at all the amazing color! The fuchsia flowers and metallic decor warm up the industrial space.

gold_romance_wedding_inspiration_3 Bling out your tables! Even though this amazing linen from La Tavola looks like gold sequin, it’s actually metallic leather! Glitter-filled clear ornaments form an ethereal chandelier over the guests’ heads.

Here’s where we get a little edgy! Black ceramic plates and chargers are paired with patterned napkins and art-deco inspired menu designs. The centerpiece steals the show with an architectural sculpture of open cubes, succulents, and airplants.

Gold flatware and gold-rimmed glasses complete our metallic table.

A mix of metallic blooms, red and green foliage and fuchsia flowers make this one of the most fantastic bouquets we’ve ever seen! Romantic and unique, it’s the urban bride’s ultimate accessory. The groom’s boutonniere mirrors the bouquet with a metallic wrap, gold and green leaves, and a few beautiful flowers.

Our bride definitely isn’t shy about flaunting her style! A 1920′s-style beaded band keeps a long “do” from becoming too casual, and long waves mirror the romantic style of these Maggie Sottero dresses!

Deck your bridesmaids out in sequins! Some sparkle will make your bridal party really shine.

A soft grey suit is our groom’s signature color on this wedding day, paired with a bow tie and his stylish boutonniere.

We’re in love with all these romantic Maggie Sottero gowns! Our bride is lovely to look at from every angle! Thanks to all our amazing vendors for bringing some magic into this shoot!!
